Awash Ethiopian Restaurant

I've been curious to expand the "food horizon" and begin to make an assessment of Ethnic San Diego Restaurants.  The first on the list is a little Ethiopian Restaurant in El Cajon, CA called Awash, named after a major river in Ethiopia -- the Awash River.  Ethiopian food is quite flavorful and the restaurant itself was pleasant.  Although the service was a little slow, the staff was helpful.  If you have not tried Ethiopian food and you are willing to expand your horizons, you may be pleasantly surprised!  I ordered a vegetarian dish that was a mix of Gomen, which are collard greens and Atkilt Wok, which is a mixture of cabbage, carrots and potatoes.  By the way, Wok in Ethiopia is a sauce.  Delicious!
