Make your bid for a Healthier Generation

Now that there is a collaboration between the American Heart Association and the William C. Clinton Foundation for an Alliance Healthcare Initiative, Alliance for a Healthier Generation (since 2009) there is great hope that there will be involvement from not only employers, but also medical associations and insurers to come together in the cause of providing coverage for obesity prevention and treatment services.

With this Alliance, there is an increasing desire from the health care community to provide benefits that will supply incentives in order to attempt further development of childhood obesity.

There are so many statistics available that continually attempt to educate our communities with enough information to create grave concern and generate positive action in in the fight against childhood obesity, the time to begin is now.

"Over the past 20 years, childhood obesity rates have doubled and are now at epidemic rates. Overweight children and teens are more likely to develop serious health problems such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. If current trends continue, today’s kids could be the first generation to live shorter lives than their parents".
