Preventing Childhood Obesity

I found this informative article on one of the ways Kaiser Permanente is making "forward strides" in the fight against Childhood Obesity.  The name of the article is "Kaiser Permanente exec imparts how to prevent childhood obesity".  Talk about an uplifting and great way to involve kids and parents in a positive way.  Afterall, the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) gave Kaiser Permanente, Northwest high marks in giving children proper counseling for physical activity as well as nutrition.
In a nutshell, physicians at Kaiser have what they call a "Healthy Eating Active Living program" enabling them to weigh kids and determine if they are within a normal weight range.  If there Body Mass Index (BMI) is higher than what it should be, they have a conversation with the kids and parents which is meant to have a positive and consistent outcome.
There are several different variables that are measured for each on and see how these changes are taking a positive turn in the community.
