The Best Diet for Sleep

As we start speeding into the New Year with resolutions, goals, dreams, ideas and more -- don't forget your sleep. While sleep seems to those "busy bees" out there to be a luxury or simply not all that great to talk about, it really is! Sleep just makes us better at what we do and what we want to accomplish! How can you possibly tackle doing an excellent job at work, taking care of the kids, taking care of errands and more without having the energy and productivity that sleep gives us!

In addition to sleep, there are some suggested foods to help us -- yes, sleep better too!

Below is a little excerpt from an article in the Huffington Post.

"A new study published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found that what we eat has a big impact on our quality of sleep. The small study included 26 adults, 13 men and 13 women, with an average age of 35. They each spent five nights in a sleep lab, sleeping an average of seven hours and 35 minutes a night. During the first four days of the experiment, they ate a controlled diet. On the fifth day, they selected their own food. 
Also, consider incorporating high-fiber foods like brown rice, flax, beans, lentils, fruit and leafy greens into your diet. Reducing the amount of meat, cheese and fried food you eat will help you cut the saturated fat and, hopefully, sleep easier".
